An optimisation update: saving no longer freezes the game, saved games are better protected, the statistics add up, and starting a new career is quicker.
A maintenance update. Belgium now plays its real league format, real sponsors appear on the advertising boards, and your own databases no longer bleed into one another.
An update for the Play Store only. Long careers could no longer be loaded on phones, even though the save was complete. Thanks for the report with screenshots.
Four bugs with the same root cause: a game rule was tied to a screen, so it ran twice or not at all. It affected your players ageing, the ageing of the computer clubs, the title holder's European place and the yellow cards in the quarter-final. Thanks to everyone who reported it.
This version is about the youth. What used to be one home-grown player per season is now a whole academy, with its own league, its own training and its own decisions. Alongside that, eight countries have joined, each with the league format it really plays. Thank you for all the feedback and bug reports – a lot of it went into this patch.
A quick one, and an apology: since 2.1.5 the shop would not open on phones and tablets. The screen stayed empty and the back button did not respond, so the only way out was to close the game.
This patch brings a lot of graphics into the game: crests, kits and sponsor marks. That also means more for you to design yourself in the editor, and it means your own files need updating again. Sorry for the hassle. All of it is groundwork for the animated scenes now being planned. Thank you for all the feedback, you are a truly great community.
A maintenance update with one core theme: the achievements. It started with a player reporting that two selling achievements never dropped. Reviewing all 80 found the cause and eleven more faults along the way. The forum brought the second focus: in the fan shop both finalists now sell at a final, and the championship scarf follows the title race. On top, an engine change fixes a crash that kept the game from starting at all on a few devices.
A maintenance update for every platform with two focal points. A player could pick up two or three yellow cards in one match without being sent off. And weekly training barely moved form, a training camp was the only lever. Plus a full review of the achievements and a training focus you can pick for your assistant coach. New on top, straight from the forum: you can terminate contracts by paying a severance, and academy players negotiate their first deal with you.
A maintenance update for every platform. The main item is England and Türkiye, where clubs were disappearing from the leagues from the second season on. Affected saves repair themselves on loading.
An interim update released on Steam only. Everything from it is also part of v2.1.2 for the other platforms.
The biggest content update since launch. You can now build entire football countries yourself: leagues, cups, promotion and relegation, playoffs. Brazil joins as a new playable country with its own continental competitions. On top of that: pitch-side advertising, your own fan shop, staff to hire, and a full rebalance of transfers, player development and club finances.
Bugfix release for the multi-country update. The most important fix: European competitions now end reliably in season 2 and beyond, so a career runs cleanly through every season. Whistle1 is also available on the Apple App Store from today.
The largest content update since multi-country: Italy, France and Spain are playable (18 leagues, ~26,000 new players), 9 new languages (47 in total), a completely rebuilt stadium editor, a live ticket-price preview, and the big feedback update from the Anstoss Jünger forum.

SEPTEMBER 2026
An optimisation update: saving no longer freezes the game, saved games are better protected, the statistics add up, and starting a new career is quicker.
No more freezing when saving
- The weekly save now runs in the background with just a small notice. Starting a career loads twice as fast, and the first interview after a matchday no longer stalls.
Saved games are safer
- Every saved game carries a checksum. If a file is damaged, the game automatically loads the last backup. After loading, rival clubs pay their full costs again, and relegated clubs no longer disappear from the All-Time Table.
The statistics add up
- Own goals no longer count for the scorer, second yellow cards are counted separately, and the top scorer lists include the goals of every league. When Argentina runs in the background, it now plays its whole season with both tournaments.
An easier start
- Name, difficulty and contracts come sensibly preset - just click on to get going. New: your manager's age and nationality, shown in the Career Overview. Club names appear everywhere instead of city names.
Languages and display
- Numbers are written the way each language writes them. Chinese, Japanese and Korean use the right script, Arabic runs right to left, and no text is smaller than 24 pixels anymore.
Also fixed
- At most five substitutions, injuries included. Every club crest is unique. Free agents are back in pre-season. And the commentary no longer contradicts what is happening on the pitch.
v2.2.0 Fixes: Belgium, advertising boards, young players, your own databases
SEPTEMBER 2026
A maintenance update. Belgium now plays its real league format, real sponsors appear on the advertising boards, and your own databases no longer bleed into one another.
Belgium plays its real format
- The Pro League has abolished its play-offs: 18 clubs, 34 match days, two direct relegations. The second division has 15 clubs with free weeks.
- Careers already running finish their season in the old format and are topped up at the season change.
Real sponsors on the advertising boards
- With no boards booked, four fixed invented names used to stand in the stadium. They now come from the sponsors of your country and club tier.
- Every one of them can be changed in the database editor - including sponsor tiers 7 and 8, which can be reached there for the first time.
Young key players cost more
- The youth premium on the market value now follows playing strength instead of applying equally to everyone under 21.
- A young squad player is cheaper than before, a young regular clearly more expensive.
Your own databases stay apart and open faster
- Club logos and kits belong to the database a save came from. In the main menu "Continue" used to show the images of whichever file was selected.
- The list of your own files no longer freezes, the online list names clubs, players, date and description, and uploading shows a please-wait notice.
Also fixed
- Club logos are displayed larger everywhere, including in the press conferences, and uploaded logos with a transparent border are cropped.
- League names from the editor apply in all built-in countries again.
- Scrolling with your finger now works over buttons as well.
- The calendar handles leagues with an odd number of clubs correctly.
v2.1.9 Emergency fix for Android: large saves load again
SEPTEMBER 2026
An update for the Play Store only. Long careers could no longer be loaded on phones, even though the save was complete. Thanks for the report with screenshots.
Error while loading" with large saves
- Phones applied a fixed size limit when loading. With many countries a save grows beyond it after a few seasons, and the game refused it - even one it had just saved itself.
- The limit is gone. Affected saves are not damaged and load again after the update.
v2.1.8 Emergency fix: the season end counts only once
SEPTEMBER 2026
Four bugs with the same root cause: a game rule was tied to a screen, so it ran twice or not at all. It affected your players ageing, the ageing of the computer clubs, the title holder's European place and the yellow cards in the quarter-final. Thanks to everyone who reported it.
The season end ran more than once
- Loading the end-of-season save ran the whole season end a second time: your players aged by two years instead of one, every contract lost two years, and twice as many players retired at the computer clubs.
- Each of these steps now records in the save that it is done for this season. The screen may appear as often as it likes: it no longer changes anything.
On slow devices the computer clubs did not age at all
- The retirements ran in a single block across all 821 computer clubs, and the screen gave up after 30 seconds - so on a slow device no computer player ever retired.
- The season end now runs in small steps and belongs to the season rather than to a screen.
The European champion starts in his own competition again
- Champion, cup winner and EU Champions Cup winner - and still starting in the EU Conference Cup. The winners only reached the archive the rule reads from if you actually saw the screen after the final.
- The game now archives them itself, the title holder is back at the front of his country's list, and in Argentina the rule applies at all.
Yellow cards and empty countries
- Yellow cards are wiped after the quarter-final again, even if you simulate through.
- Ticking every country in the country selection produced eight countries without a single club - fixed, and affected saves heal themselves on loading.
- The youth academy's upgrade window was unreadable, with headings and costs overlapping. Rebuilt.
Two lists you could not operate
- With fifteen active countries the country tabs pulled the panel wider than the screen. They now wrap.
- In the targeted transfer abroad the country list could not be scrolled, neither on the phone nor on a PC. Now it can - including with your finger on a button.
What changes for careers in progress
- A save in which the computer clubs' season end used to fail now gets a normally ageing world - so more retirements than lately, until the backlog is worked off.
- A European place lost in an earlier season cannot be restored retroactively. From the next title on, the rule applies.
v2.1.7 The youth academy
SEPTEMBER 2026
This version is about the youth. What used to be one home-grown player per season is now a whole academy, with its own league, its own training and its own decisions. Alongside that, eight countries have joined, each with the league format it really plays. Thank you for all the feedback and bug reports – a lot of it went into this patch.
The youth academy
- Three age groups (U15, U17, U19) with their own youth league, their own table and their own scorer list. The club now runs three intakes instead of one talent a year.
- The academy has five levels, and they decide the number of places, the training budget, individual training and trial weeks. Training goes by position, and match practice counts towards it: an appearance, a goal, an assist and a clean sheet all pay into the same account.
- The first pro contract from 16 is also the promotion into the squad – and the only protection against another club poaching the talent. Anyone still unsigned at 19 leaves at the season change.
- The scout travels in three ranges, each with its own price and its own waiting time. Plus a board of players other clubs are releasing – and the option to poach talent, at home and abroad.
- A youth coach and a scout can be hired: the first sets the pace of development, the second the quality of the finds.
Eight new countries, each with its real format
- Austria, Switzerland, Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Poland, Portugal and Argentina. That makes fifteen countries to choose from.
- Netherlands, Portugal and Poland play 34 matchdays. Austria and Denmark split into two groups after 22, Austria halving the points, Denmark keeping them.
- Switzerland plays three rounds over 33 matchdays and only then splits – 38 matchdays, the longest season in the game. Belgium plays 30 and then a championship round of the top six.
- In every split league the group beats the points: the last team in the championship group stands above the first of the qualification group. The table draws a dividing line there.
- Argentina: 30 clubs in two zones, two tournaments a season and therefore two champions a year. Relegation does not hang on this season but on a three-year points average.
The 2026/27 season
- All fifteen countries start from the real season – champions, promoted and relegated clubs, last season's placings, cup winners and European entrants are correct, qualifying rounds included.
- Every league stands in its present composition, from the first tier down to the third. Stadium capacities, squad strengths and the share of foreign players in every league have been brought up to date.
- The team selection sorts by last season's placing, with the promoted clubs at the bottom.
European cups and titles
- When more clubs qualify than there are places, the surplus is no longer cut – it is played out over two legs before the league phase, in calendar weeks 2 and 3.
- A club that loses its qualifier drops into the league phase of the tier below. There is prize money for taking part in the round, and the full amount once a club is through.
- A league title is now booked on the final matchday, not eleven weeks later at the season review.
- The underdog title is within reach again – it also counts for a squad that started the season in the bottom third, and for a promoted side that wins the league straight away.
Match commentary
- 523 translated lines sat in the game and were never drawn – now you hear them, and no source of text is silent any more.
- Kick-off has twenty variants instead of five, injuries nine instead of one. New as follow-ups: saves, clearances, cards and the substitution forced by an injury.
- Plus the solo run as the big chance, the direct free kick as the dangerous one, the critical booking at the real suspension threshold, and the bicycle kick as a finish after a cross.
- A player's name now sits in a whole sentence instead of being stuck on the end. That repaired the word order everywhere a language does not put the name last.
Also in this version
- 37 countries from templates: you can build a country inside the game – with clubs, players, sponsors, referees and a calendar. No purchase, one tap is enough.
- New game: country and the leagues running alongside it sit on one screen, with a bar showing what your choice costs in storage and where the recommendation for this device lies.
- A game week with nine active countries runs twice as fast as before. The background matches compute the same result character for character – nothing has been simplified, it is only quicker.
- Premium shop: prices and bundle contents match the store again, and the saving is calculated rather than claimed.
- Every league table now sorts by the same rule. Fourteen copies of that rule are gone, two of which decided TV money and promotion.
- Nationalities come from a single register. On the English interface every player used to count as a foreigner.
- The external merchandising deal now pays what it promises: the licence fee up front, the attendance share on every home matchday.
v2.1.6 Emergency fix: the shop opens again
AUGUST 2026
A quick one, and an apology: since 2.1.5 the shop would not open on phones and tablets. The screen stayed empty and the back button did not respond, so the only way out was to close the game.
What was fixed
- The cause was our own doing. The tutorial rework in 2.1.5 introduced two very similar functions, and one of the six places that call them was given the argument list of the wrong one. That is enough to stop a script from loading, and the shop screen is driven by exactly that script.
- What we changed beyond the fix itself: our parse check used to run through a hand-written list of 55 files, and the shop was not on it. It now checks every script in the project, all 387 of them. A list you maintain by hand always lags behind; a scan cannot.
- On desktop the shop itself was fine. Two return paths were not: coming back from the custom player creator or the training points dialog led to the mobile screen. That is fixed as well.
- Sorry for the trouble.
v2.1.5 Crests, your own images and clearer finances
AUGUST 2026
This patch brings a lot of graphics into the game: crests, kits and sponsor marks. That also means more for you to design yourself in the editor, and it means your own files need updating again. Sorry for the hassle. All of it is groundwork for the animated scenes now being planned. Thank you for all the feedback, you are a truly great community.
Crests, kits and your own images
- Crests and kits: Every club has its own colours, its own crest and its own kit, derived from its ID so it looks the same on every device. The crest appears where a club stands on its own (tables, rankings, club lists), the kit where two clubs face each other (scoreboard, fixtures, results). Four crest shapes with real-world models, weighted differently per country.
- Your own images: Crests, kits, away kits, sponsor marks and pitchside boards can be uploaded - one at a time in the editor, or as a ZIP for the whole squad. SVG is accepted and rasterised. A template ZIP with every club name in your active database is included.
- Sponsor marks: Every sponsor has its own mark with colours, pattern and monogram. 32 pictograms are recognised from the name: Blue Cow Energy gets a cow. Fully editable.
Finances and fan shop
- Finances: you can see where the money goes: Every row of the finance screen expands and shows its individual entries with amount, count and matchday. Each cost item carries a question mark that explains that item. The three key figures are clickable too: monthly fixed costs, board satisfaction and the financial rating now show how they are arrived at.
- Tax and rating: Tax on your season profit drops from 25 to 10 percent. And the financial rating now measures your balance against your squad value: AAA is reachable for a small club too, instead of only for whoever already has the most.
- Fan shop: The order buttons count the home games you have left instead of the whole season - before, from matchday two onwards you were buying stock for games long played. New: the domestic cup scarf, unlocked by reaching the cup final. The whole screen is split into four tabs and reads far more calmly.
Player form and match rating
- Player form: Weekly training now has a noticeable effect, and it happens in exactly one place. Regeneration lifts your weakest players, position training targets its own group. Substituted players no longer count as benched and no longer lose form for it. The winter break no longer eats a good first half of the season.
- Match ratings: Goal fests and derbies now count: a 5-4 is rated differently from a 1-0, and a derby win carries more weight.
Stadium and office
- Stadium atmosphere: Between events the fans sing - six pools depending on the score, with no repeats within a match. Plus a follow-up line for every goalscorer.
- The pitch in your office: You can see the state of the pitch: worn patches in front of the goals and in the centre circle, in six stages, matching the text on the stadium screen.
- Top matches: A top match is only a top match when both sides are actually near the top - not merely because two big names meet.
Competitions, tutorials and languages
- Continental cups: Win the second tier and you start in the first next season, even without a league place. Title holders are seeded. Finals and titles pay considerably more than before; merely taking part does not.
- Card statistics: Fair-play tables for other leagues were empty. They fill up from the next matchday onwards.
- Tutorials and intro: Every help text looks the same and is broken into sections instead of walls of text. And the logo in the intro really blows its whistle now, in time with the sound.
- Languages: 5650 lines reworked. Mistranslated football terms fixed - in 15 languages 'player' meant a media player, the league table meant a piece of furniture and a cross meant a crucifix.
v2.1.4 Achievements, finals and a startup problem
AUGUST 2026
A maintenance update with one core theme: the achievements. It started with a player reporting that two selling achievements never dropped. Reviewing all 80 found the cause and eleven more faults along the way. The forum brought the second focus: in the fan shop both finalists now sell at a final, and the championship scarf follows the title race. On top, an engine change fixes a crash that kept the game from starting at all on a few devices.
Achievements
- "Made a Profit" and "Doubled Up" were structurally out of reach: a player's purchase price was wiped at the season change, and the holding period forbids selling in the season of purchase. By the earliest possible sale the price was always gone. It now stays with the player, and prices from the running season are restored on load.
- Record Win only counted in the league, a 7-0 in the cup did not. Double and Triple were also awarded for a second division title. The Triple accepted any continental cup instead of only the top one.
- The finance achievements measured the bank balance: a single large loan could unlock all four tiers at once. They now count earned profit, with open loans deducted.
- Streaks such as defending a title and profitable seasons lived device-wide outside the save. A new career inherited the old one's streak. They belong to the career now.
- The demo match no longer grants achievements. A demo win used to burn "First Match" permanently into the store account even though no career exists.
Fan shop: finals and special items
- Finals are played at a neutral venue. Until now only the side listed as home in the pairing sold there, so the seeding decided the income. Both finalists sell now, and the gate receipts are shared.
- More people buy on a final day than at an ordinary home match, and the scarf matching the competition sells many times over. A win brings more revenue than a defeat.
- The cup scarf stays orderable until the end of the season, not just until the final. That way it keeps selling at the continental super cup too.
- The championship scarf follows the title race instead of a fixed matchday limit: available once the title is realistic in the second half of the season, and in higher demand the safer the championship becomes.
- Knockout home matches count in the forecast, and the revenue line now uses every selling match instead of the league fixtures alone.
The game would not start on some devices
- On a few devices the game died during startup, before the first frame appeared. Those players never saw a menu.
- The cause was not in the game but in the game engine: it asked the device for a file storage location and did not expect that some devices do not provide one. We moved to the repaired version.
- The same update brings further fixes, among them back navigation on newer Android versions and graphics output.
Handling
- On the laptop the "Alerts" tab is now the default. Something changes there every week, while the picture note is read once per season image at best.
- In the pre-season the salary overview leads back to your staff. The laptop is not available there, which cut off planning for the assistant coach and the rest of the staff.
- The fan shop now explains the rules for finals and special items in its help text, and the laptop reports when a final is coming up or the championship scarf becomes available.
Editor: league changes
- If you moved a team to another league in the editor, it was back in the old one after saving. The change itself was always stored correctly.
- The fault was in how leagues are assembled: as soon as a league ended up one team short, the whole assignment was discarded and rebuilt from the ID range. Swapping two teams kept the count even, which is why that case worked.
- Leagues are now filled up instead of rebuilt. Databases without maintained league names stay playable, and a new regression test locks down both sides.
v2.1.3 Contracts and bug fixes
AUGUST 2026
A maintenance update for every platform with two focal points. A player could pick up two or three yellow cards in one match without being sent off. And weekly training barely moved form, a training camp was the only lever. Plus a full review of the achievements and a training focus you can pick for your assistant coach. New on top, straight from the forum: you can terminate contracts by paying a severance, and academy players negotiate their first deal with you.
Cards and sendings off
- Two or three yellow cards in one match without a sending off fixed. The kick off of a match simulated in parallel wiped the bookings of the match still in progress.
- For the same reason red cards, injuries and line ups could go missing mid match.
- Card suspensions stay separated by competition as before, injuries still rule a player out of every competition.
- On a sending off the match stopped in text mode, the continue button turned green, and the reason only appeared after the click. The signal to the interface arrived before the commentary.
Training affects form
- Weekly training barely moved form. One point of regeneration worked exactly like ten, and it hit random players.
- The points now decide how many players gain form, and it targets those in the worst form. A fitness coach on the payroll raises the ceiling.
- At a serial champion without a training camp, reserves sat at form 3.6 and now reach 10.0 with full regeneration training.
- Computer teams got a counterpart that grows with the difficulty level. On the highest level a club without regeneration training sits below the competition.
- New in the season preparation: a status panel with form, fitness, freshness and offside trap strength, plus a list in the help popup of what your training points do.
- Tapping the squad status panel shows what the training achieved on the last matchday: who was brought into form, who gained condition, and what the match-only areas contributed.
Contracts and youth players
- New: you can terminate a running contract by paying a severance. The amount depends on how easily the player finds a new club, an older or out-of-form player costs more. You can negotiate.
- He leaves on a free transfer and cannot be signed back for two seasons. Showing a key player the door costs morale and popularity.
- New: academy graduates arrive without a professional contract and ask for their first deal themselves, below market level. Without a signature they leave the club.
- Fixed: youth players earned up to 2.3 times what a negotiated contract costs, 11.7 instead of 5 million a year for a strong talent. Their wage was never negotiated, it came from the transfer formula. Existing save games are corrected on load.
- Two new studio conversations: a player asks to have his contract terminated, sometimes waiving most of his remaining wages. And veterans start talking about retirement, a testimonial match brings income and goodwill.
European cups: stuck brackets
- In 2.1.2 the symptom was fixed, a final without an opponent. The cause was a bye in the knockout bracket: it kept the field permanently odd and passed the error through every round, up to a quarter final with nine and a final with three teams.
- The field of the next round is now derived from the second leg ties, exactly one winner per tie. Continental cups no longer have a bye, domestic cups keep their own.
- From the round of 16 there is no fresh draw, the path to the final is set. That matches the real league phase format.
- Affected save games repair themselves on loading.
Achievements
- The Double is now awarded when you win the Treble in the same year.
- Sold at a Profit and Double Profit Sale work again. A player's purchase price used to be lost at the turn of the season.
- Sales through a studio offer now count towards the transfer achievements.
- Perfect Season and Season Invincible check the current season instead of your whole career.
- Cup Collector no longer counts the league title as a cup, Underdog Champion now also covers the bigger outsiders.
- New: Super Cup Winner and Promotion.
Merchandise
- Merchandise sales now also depend on squad value. Your squad is measured against a fixed benchmark rather than the league average: strengthen it and you sell more.
- The swing is kept small, this is a nuance and not a new money tap.
- An item that loses its unlock keeps selling its remaining stock. It was missing from the forecast and quietly held back sales of every other item.
Assistant coach
- The assistant coach always set the same training targets. Now you pick the focus first: Attack, Defence, Set Pieces, Fitness or Balanced.
- He distributes the points accordingly and takes opponent strength, home or away, competition, squad condition, derbies and top matches into account.
- How precisely he hits your brief depends on his level.
Football vocabulary
- In many languages the football vocabulary was mistranslated: the league table was a piece of furniture, a header a document heading, a cross a crucifix.
- More than a thousand places are corrected.
My Own Player
- In around 20 languages the feature was called a media player, because the English word Player had been translated as a playback device. Russian and Swedish carried half German sentences.
- The creation screen said 16 to 38 years, the allowed range is 18 to 40.
- It now also states that you have one player of your own at a time. Ending his career frees the slot again.
- In English the feature is now called My Own Player instead of Custom Player.
- The same mix up sat in 43 more places and is fixed as well. In Polish the Player column in tables and ratings read playback device, in Tajik it affected half of the database editor.
- A search for other ambiguous football terms turned up more than a thousand places: the league table was a piece of furniture, a header was a document heading, a cross was a crucifix, form was a paper form. Swedish and Russian carried half German sentences in the database editor.
Custom databases
- Custom league names are now used in team selection as well.
- Domestic super cups and the South American cups can be renamed without the names overwriting each other.
- Large databases save noticeably faster. The safeguard stays: an aborted file never replaces the old one.
South American careers
- Continental Master and Favourite Champion were unreachable there. Both now follow your own confederation and the best prestige tier of the country.
- The achievement list names the cups the way they are called in your career and hides the third continental tier where it does not exist.
Desktop and handling
- Quick access on the desktop: eight shortcuts to finances, table, sponsors, cups, stadium, statistics, wages and career. The way back leads to the desktop, not to the office.
- Free kick, penalty, captain and sweeper can be assigned straight from the substitution screen.
- Perimeter advertising can be arranged during the season. You are paid for the remaining fixtures.
- The sales history in the fan shop shows matchday, opponent and, for cup games, the competition. A cup home game used to carry the number of that week's league fixture.
Matchday and contracts: the final pass
- Penalty shootouts: in cup games your own team never scored, because the takers and the keeper ratings were read from a match simulated in parallel. Both now come from your own match.
- Goal chances in text mode are tied to the commentary and the minute pace follows the text speed. At triple speed the highlight used to run beside the text.
- Terminating a contract is now possible during the pre season as well, which is exactly when you sort out the squad. An academy player without a professional deal leaves for free, with no severance.
- After switching between databases the team selection shows the countries of the current database again. Nothing needs to be done by hand.
- The board's first warning was recorded but never delivered. A good cup run now really does calm the board down.
- The live table counted your own match in progress twice. The pick lists for free kick, penalty, captain and sweeper are no longer black.
v2.1.2 Bug fixes
JULY 2026
A maintenance update for every platform. The main item is England and Türkiye, where clubs were disappearing from the leagues from the second season on. Affected saves repair themselves on loading.
England and Türkiye
- England and Türkiye: all clubs selectable again. From the second season on, teams were disappearing from those leagues. Affected saves and databases are repaired automatically on loading.
- England's national cup is now called National Cup.
Achievements and European cups
- Counter achievements (matches, wins, transfers, titles) are granted again and added retroactively.
- European cups: final without an opponent fixed.
Shop and Steam
- Shop purchases complete again.
- After closing the Steam overlay the game responds normally again.
Display
- Loading screen texts display cleanly on every device.
v2.1.1 Bug fixes
JULY 2026
An interim update released on Steam only. Everything from it is also part of v2.1.2 for the other platforms.
Fixed on Steam
- Purchases: Several shop items could not be bought because no price was stored on Steam. All items are available again, prices are unchanged.
- Steam overlay: The overlay barely responded during the game and could not be operated, which also blocked the payment dialog.
- Achievements: Achievements with a counter (matches, wins, transfers, championships, cups, seminars, points) were never unlocked. They are granted again, and milestones you already reached are added when you open the achievements screen.
- European cups: In some save games the final had no opponent and the season could not continue. Affected saves repair themselves on loading.
v2.1.0 Build Your Own World
JULY 2026
The biggest content update since launch. You can now build entire football countries yourself: leagues, cups, promotion and relegation, playoffs. Brazil joins as a new playable country with its own continental competitions. On top of that: pitch-side advertising, your own fan shop, staff to hire, and a full rebalance of transfers, player development and club finances.
Build your own countries
- Define leagues, cup, promotion and relegation and playoffs freely, build complete countries from scratch
- 78 country templates with authentic city lists and derby pairings
- League level selectable, every team renameable, countries can be excluded from a custom database
- Excluded countries disappear from team selection as well
God mode
- Editor changes apply immediately in your running career, no restart and no new save
- Rename a club, adjust a league, change a cup format: the next matchday already uses it
New country: Brazil
- Three leagues, its own national cup, its own currency and its own continental competitions
- The South American cups run with a real group stage: 32 teams, 8 groups of 4
- Clubs from the same country are kept apart in the draw, exactly like the real thing
- Group winners and runners-up advance, the third-placed teams drop into the second-tier competition
- Prize money, sponsor levels and ticket prices follow South American reality
Sponsoring, fan shop and staff
- Pitch-side advertising sells slots depending on your stadium size
- Run the fan shop in house, with production runs, prices and stock risk, or license it out for a flat fee
- Hire staff: physiotherapist, fitness coach, assistant coach, goalkeeper coach and scout, each on five levels
- The hired assistant coach sets the strongest, best form or freshest eleven at the press of a button
Season awards and career
- Player of the Year and Manager of the Year at the end of every season, tracked per country
- Career achievements now run all the way to season 50
Rebalanced: transfers, development, finances
- Player values follow quality rather than the league a player currently sits in
- The difficulty setting finally affects contract talks at every club, not just at small ones
- Age counts year by year instead of in coarse steps
- Success bonuses, merchandise demand and advertising income now face real operating costs and taxes
- AI clubs get the same treatment, so the league stays healthy across many seasons
Match engine and difficulty
- The position matchup used an outdated internal numbering and skewed around 40 percent of all match events
- AI teams picked tactics that were never applied in the match
- AI squads thinned out over the seasons while yours only grew
- Balance adjusted: favourites still win, but a title season is no longer a walk
Currencies and languages
- Home currency selectable from over 60 options, in the settings or directly at team selection
- All amounts are converted automatically
- Arabic joins as another language
v2.0.6 Season Saver
MAY 2026
Bugfix release for the multi-country update. The most important fix: European competitions now end reliably in season 2 and beyond, so a career runs cleanly through every season. Whistle1 is also available on the Apple App Store from today.
European competitions end reliably
- In multi-country mode with all 6 countries, the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League could end up with fewer than 36 qualified teams, the knockout stage then found no opponent and the season stalled
- The per-country allocation rules now scale dynamically with the number of national direct qualifiers
- European cup tables are built at qualification time, no more lazy-init gap on the way into the knockout stage
Interview and live ticker corrected
- Relegation interview: on going down from the first to the second division, the studio interview said "relegated from league 2 to league 2", the old and the new league are now read correctly
- Live ticker: on saved or missed penalties the ticker sometimes named an outfield player instead of the keeper. The goalkeeper is now resolved deterministically from the defending side
Top-scorer lists complete
- Career top scorers keep their name: in the all-time scorer lists, finished careers sometimes showed "???" instead of the player's name, the name is now stored persistently with the first goal
- All-time league scorers now cover every country: goals from league matches abroad are archived correctly at the end of the season
Whistle1 now on the App Store
- Whistle1 is available on the Apple App Store from today, for iPhone and iPad, iOS 14 or newer
- 73 Game Center achievements, in sync with the Google Play Games ones
- StoreKit 2 for in-app purchases, the same product range as on Android
- That puts the game on every major platform: App Store, Google Play, Steam, itch.io and the browser
v2.0.5 Conquer the World
MAY 2026
The largest content update since multi-country: Italy, France and Spain are playable (18 leagues, ~26,000 new players), 9 new languages (47 in total), a completely rebuilt stadium editor, a live ticket-price preview, and the big feedback update from the Anstoss Jünger forum.
More world: Italy, France, Spain
- Italy, France and Spain are now playable, first, second and third division each
- 18 leagues instead of 9, over 170 new league clubs and 240 amateur cup sides
- ~26,000 new players, 120 new sponsor brands, 90 new referees
- 3 new national cups with country-specific rules and amateur rounds
- Stadium names follow the local language (Estadio, Stadio, Stade, Stadium, Stadyumu)
- Financial balance follows the UEFA ranking, top clubs sit on realistic billion-scale valuations
47 languages (9 new)
- 9 new languages: Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Hindi, Vietnamese, Traditional Chinese, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu
- New language picker as an 8×6 grid of flags, with the whole interface updating live
- Touch scrolling on small screens too
- Many improvements to existing translations, more natural wording, correct football terminology
Stadium editor and finances
- Stadium editor rebuilt from scratch: three clearly separated areas (new build / roof / conversion), a compact statistics panel, touch scrolling
- The executive-box card now shows "⭐ 5–8× revenue per match" as an investment hint
- When an expansion is not possible, a toast explains why, no more guessing from tooltips
- Sponsor bonus filter: only bonuses that are realistically reachable (no Champions League bonuses for third-division sides, no micro-bonuses under €1,000)
Forum feedback update (Anstoss Jünger forum)
- Extended player search on the transfer market: filter by position, age, market value, league and country
- Achievements list in the career screen: all 73 achievements in 7 categories, a progress bar, a detail popup and a direct button
- Super cups before the season starts in every country (champion versus cup winner) plus the European Super Cup after the summer break, with their own section in the career statistics
- Converting terracing to seating: 3 variants (open / new roof / under the existing roof), with a clear "⚠ 30% capacity loss" warning
- Live ticket-price preview in the matchday briefing: attendance, occupancy and revenue, reacting instantly to every price change
- Second-yellow suspension rule corrected (DFB §8(3) / FA): bookings from a second-yellow match no longer count towards the accumulation ban
- Yellow card display corrected: player and team booking counters are now counted separately
Quality of life (Discord feedback)
- A separate "Quit game" button next to "Restart", with a confirmation dialog
- Switching career: an immediate loading screen and a locked button, no more accidental double clicks
- Free agents over 34 (goalkeepers over 38) retire automatically, the pool stays lean, and the clean-up now also runs at runtime after every AI transfer window
- Cup and country filters wrap onto two lines on mobile
- The team selection screen loads only the chosen country, roughly 6× faster to start
Season transition and retro style
- Season transition stabilised: end-of-season player rating updates are applied reliably even when a winter-break rating ran beforehand (the two phases used to be able to block each other)
- Retro style preserved: modern TikTok-slang match commentary ("No cap", "Cringe", "Bre" and the like) removed entirely, it does not belong in a nineties retro remake
v2.0.3 IAP Security + Bug fixes (iOS in Review)
The in-app purchase system has been hardened so that double rewards are ruled out through transaction tracking and an audit log. The iOS build (iPhone and iPad, iOS 14+) has been submitted to Apple, the App Store review has not been passed yet, so iOS is not available.
iOS App Store (in review)
- iOS build (iPhone and iPad) submitted to Apple, the App Store review has not been passed, not available yet
- Prepared for iOS 14+
- 73 Game Center achievements integrated
- StoreKit 2 prepared for in-app purchases
In-app purchase system hardened
- Double rewards ruled out through transaction tracking
- Audit log for every in-app purchase
Bug fixes
- The Champions League opponent widget showed MF 0.0 / GK 12.0 when midfielders were unavailable (reserve keepers were filling the starting eleven)
- Stadium expansion is no longer blocked at 149,500+ seats
- Premium shop: overlapping text corrected
- Transfer search: new forward and back arrows for navigation
v2.0.2 Match engine Bug fixes
Following detailed community feedback the match engine has been reviewed thoroughly. Strikers benefit from more realistic headed goals, and a critical bug that meant none of the 15 end-of-season sponsor bonuses were ever paid out has been fixed.
Match engine
- Headed goals are now weighted by rating, form and position (attack 1.0, defence 0.8, midfield 0.3); previously all outfield players were equally likely
- Corners and crosses: position weighting added (midfielders preferred, full-backs and wingers the second choice)
- The designated free-kick taker is now ALWAYS respected, and takes indirect free kicks as well (previously skipped about 75% of the time)
- Tackling events: field name typo (
position_groupinstead ofprimary_position) fixed, the events show up in the live ticker again - Assist attribution: cross-team assignment corrected (a crosser from team A no longer picks up an assist for a goal by team B)
- Offside "ghost assists" eliminated: disallowed goals are removed from the event list
- Player selection: square-root damping instead of linear weighting, for a more consistent spread
Sponsor bonuses (CRITICAL)
- None of the 15 end-of-season sponsor bonuses (title, Champions League and Europa League qualification, top 3/6/10/15, cup win, cup semi-final, survival, fair play, season completion) were ever paid out. The cause was
Engine.has_singleton(), which does not work for GDScript autoloads - Fix: direct autoload references instead of
has_singleton() - 3 missing cup round bonuses added: first round, second round, round of 16
- Duplicate protection: sponsor bonuses can no longer be paid twice (a persisted season guard)
- The transaction history is reset correctly between seasons again
Engine.has_singletonbug fixed in 13 further places (PlayerData, GameManager, DatabaseEditor, SaveGameService)
Transfer system
- Rating-7 players were effectively unsellable: top European clubs (Real Madrid, Barcelona, Inter, Juventus, PSG …) now make offers along the same path as the Saudi clubs, with an oligarch budget, a 25% chance and at most 4 per rating level per season
- Distress-sale fallback at a 30% discount when the full-price pass fails (balance check relaxed to 60%)
- European tier 1 and 2 clubs: credit limit raised to 300 million, no more forced fire sale after signing a star
- Sold players really do join the European club's squad and can line up against you in the Champions League later
- Saudi offers at rating 7 rebalanced: Saudi is now the last fallback instead of the first (price multiplier 1.2–1.6× instead of 1.5–2.5×)
Instant simulation and balance
- Instant simulation: your chosen eleven stays put; the AI only substitutes on an injury or a red card
- Red card: a side down to ten now faces a chance ratio of about 3:1 instead of 1.6:1
- Contract talks: a player no longer leaves the club the moment an extension falls through
- Contracts capped at seven years, and one negotiation per player per season
- New wage-demand formula: wages no longer drift downwards step by step; the loss-of-form discount stays
Saving, cards and events
- User-file conflict: saved games now carry a database snapshot and no longer depend on whichever custom database is active
- Second yellow: the redundant second booking is no longer reported as its own comment
- Follow-up events (corner → header, cross → header, defensive error → counter): one shared data source via
is_followupflag instead of reconstruction - "Goal from a corner" versus "goal from a cross": the right label for the type of assist
Other
- 276 country-mapping warnings eliminated (European clubs are matched by ID instead of by city lookup)
- 39 GDScript compiler warnings reduced to 0
- FinanceManager: third-division validation for custom databases fixed
- Transfer screen: stuck mouse pointer on unavailable players fixed
- Player progression rebalanced (about 3 changes per club per season instead of 5 to 7)
- Double rating calculation at the end of the season prevented (season guard)
